Summary: Maine South’s TD came after a muffed punt by Glenbrook North. On the following play Maine South QB Charlie Goro threw a 20-yard TD pass to FB Corby Ryan. North scored the game winner with 6:21 left. GBN QB Tom Coughlin threw a 4-yard to Eric Brunner which the WR turned into an 84-yard TD.

Summary: With St. Rita leading only 7-0 at halftime, Dave Marciano brought the Mustangs to life. He opened the second half with a bang with a 90-yard kickoff return for touchdown followed with a 41-yard interception return for a TD on Leo’s next possession. QB Darwin Rogers was knocked out of the game just before the first half ended with what the trainer called a sprained shoulder. He was scheduled for an MRI Friday night.

H-F DB Mike McWhorter’s INT in the end zone with one minute left sealed the win. H-F overcame 15 penalties for 135 yards.

Summary: Lane Tech held off a game CVS squad. After a late touchdown and 2-point conversion, CVS followed up with a first-and-goal on the Lane 9-yard line, but the Indians held them 4 straight plays to win the game.
