Get sauced the Mexican way at the Oaxacan Mole Festival. California dreamin’

Three’s a charm

The light on Broadway might be brighter, but the theater scene is thrice as nice closer to home. “Three Cat Thursday: New Works” celebrates local flavor with a monthly showcase of new works from Chicago playwrights and composers. This month, composer Eric Lane Barnes performs silly new songs in a one-hour musical comedy with vocalists Rob Dorn and Tina Gluschenko. Produced by Three Cat Media. 8 p.m. $10.
