* A front page story Friday about the president’s plan for withdrawal of forces in Iraq misstated the number of combat troops involved. The number is about 21,000.
* A story in Thursday’s Metro section erroneously stated that a Kane County coroner’s inquest jury ruled the July 29 death of a St. Charles man accidental. Although the coroner’s office said John B. Hultgren probably fell accidentally and struck his head, and died later of bleeding in his brain, the jury ruled that the official cause of his death was undetermined.
* A Tuesday Tempo story with reader comments on handling books included an incorrect name for the author of the novel “Babbitt.” The writer was Sinclair Lewis.
