America has voted, and it might be time for 50 Cent to start planning his retirement.
Billboard.com tallied sales projections from the major record labels last week, and Kanye West’s “Graduation” leads 50 Cent’s “Curtis” 781,000 to 603,000.
Fif famously declared he’d stop recording solo albums if West outsold him, but he told Billboard, “[The sales] can’t be considered [any one way] anyway because it’s just a few days out.”
He also said he was short-changed in appearances on BET’s “106 & Park” and MTV’s Video Music Awards. Noting that Kanye appeared four separate times on the VMAs, 50 Cent took a jab at his record label, Interscope, for not promoting him. “I was on the VMAs for 1 minute and 20 seconds,” he said. “I should’ve just stayed home.”~
