– The Cubs have settled on their rotation for the rest of the season, except for next Thursday, and it would leave Carlos Zambrano as the likely starter Oct. 3 for a possible Game 1 of the National League Division Series. Of course, it’s all subject to change, depending on whether the Cubs have clinched before the final day.
– It appears complaints about the Astros throwing three young pitchers against the Brewers have died down after a one-day uproar. “I don’t like it, but I’m not down there, and it’s not something I’ll worry about,” Mark DeRosa said. Brewers manager Ned Yost addressed the topic with Milwaukee media before Wednesday’s game. “It’s not my concern,” he said. “To be honest with you, I don’t care. … All I care about is us playing a ballgame [Wednesday].”
