Pacman: ‘I did enough’
Suspended Titans cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones said he’s done enough to be reinstated back to the NFL early. Jones, suspended for the 2007 season in April for violating the NFL’s personal conduct policy, said he’ll meet with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell later this month about reinstatement after 10 games. “I think I did enough. I did pretty much everything Mr. Goodell asked me to do,” Jones said in an interview in Sunday’s editions of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Gordon wins at ‘Dega
Jeff Gordon surged into the lead on the final lap at Talladega Superspeedway, then held off teammate Jimmie Johnson to win Sunday and take the lead in NASCAR’s Chase for the Championship. He leads Johnson by nine points with six races remaining. Johnson finished second, Dave Blaney was third in the best finish this year for a Toyota driver.
Runner dies in race
An unidentified runner from Virginia died Sunday during the Army Ten-Miler race, collapsing near the finish line at the Pentagon. The cause of death was not known. The runner was a civilian, not a member of the military.
