*NFL: Cowboys safety Roy Williams has been fined for the second time this season for a “horse-collar” tackle. The NFL fined Williams $15,000 for a tackle against running back Marshawn Lynch in Monday’s game in Buffalo. Williams drew a penalty for an incidental facemask but not the “horse-collar” tackle. After a similar tackle against Bears tight end Desmond Clark last month, Williams was fined $12,500.

*GOLF: Defending champion Lorena Ochoa shot a 5-under 67 to take a one-shot lead after the second round of the Samsung World Championship in Palm Desert, Calif. Ochoa’s bogey-free round moved her to 9-under 135 through 36 holes, one shot in front of Paula Creamer, An gela Park and Angela Stanford. For Michelle Wie, it was another bad day in a mostly bad year. She shot her second consecutive 79. She remained in 20th and last place. … U.S. Open champion Angel Cabrera beat defending champion Paul Casey 4 and 3 in the second round of the World Match Play Championship in Virginia Water England. Six-time champion Ernie Els beat Andres Romero 6 and 5.

* AUTO RACING: Jeff Burton came from the back to win the crash-filled Busch Series Dollar General 300 at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Concord, N.C. Kyle Busch and Dale Earnhardt Jr. finished a distant second and third.

*TENNIS: Serena Williams beat eighth-seeded Nicole Vaidisova 6-4, 7-6 (7), and the top-seeded Svetlana Kuznetsova defeated Vera Dushevina 6-2, 6-2 and the two will face each other in the Kremlin Cup semifinals in Moscow.
