Northwestern University says a graduate student was injured in a science lab explosion. A school spokeswoman says Jason Nicholas was mixing compounds in a glass container when it exploded. He suffered a puncture wound to the abdomen and burns and cuts to his face. Nicholas was taken to nearby Evanston Hospital.
