The recent extraordinarily long travel times on the Edens Expressway should ease off with the scheduled completion of pavement patching and emergency-shoulder repairs this weekend, state transportation officials said Thursday. Repairs have been completed between Old Orchard and Lake-Cook Roads, and the temporary lane closures are over, officials said Thursday. The right lane and shoulder of the Edens between Lawrence Avenue and Old Orchard Road will remain closed through Saturday night, officials said.
