U.S. tops Austria
The U.S. started the defense of its Davis Cup title with a 4-1 first-round win over Austria. The teams split Sunday’s reverse singles after the U.S. had already secured its quarterfinal spot by winning Saturday’s doubles.
Stadium name to set record?
The deal expected to set naming rights for the new football stadium for the New York Giants and New York Jets in East Rutherford, N.J., might set records. Marc Ganis, president of SportsCorp, a Chicago sports marketing firm, predicts the deal to go for at least $25 million to $30 million annually.
