Amount that Jared Massey will receive in a settlement with the state of Utah. Massey became an Internet celebrity after video of him being stunned with a Taser by a state trooper appeared on YouTube. Massey claimed in a civil lawsuit filed in January that his civil rights were violated because Highway Patrolman Jon Gardner fired before telling him he was under arrest. The Highway Patrol said use of the Taser was justified, but Gardner’s attitude was a problem. He was put on administrative leave for a few weeks and got training in conflict resolution.
