– I love the new comedy “The Big Bang Theory.” Can you tell me if it will be back with new episodes anytime soon? — Mary Smith, Elgin, Ill.

You’re just in time, since the Kaley Cuoco-starring CBS show is slated to resume fresh episodes this Monday, March 17 — the same night “How I Met Your Mother” and “Two and a Half Men” are expected to start new airings. And there’s even better news: “The Big Bang Theory” already has been renewed, so it will start its sophomore season in the fall.

– As a 20-year “Inside the NFL” viewer, I’m hearing that HBO is canceling the show. Say it isn’t so! — Alfred Bobb III, Palm City, Fla.

Sorry, we can’t. After a 31-year run, the premium cable network has brought down the curtain on the weekly, in-season series of football highlights and analysis. The show is owned by the NFL, so it could turn up elsewhere, but possibly without the same “cast” that included Bob Costas (who was memorably candid in his on-air displeasure over the decision) and Cris Collinsworth when it reached its end on HBO.

– I was a fan of the series “Beauty and the Beast,” which starred Ron Perlman. If it is available on DVD or VHS, I would like to know how to obtain it. — Linda Branch, Lindsay, Okla.

As of Feb. 5, all three seasons of the fantasy-drama series — which originally aired on CBS from 1987 to 1990 — were available on the Paramount Home Entertainment label. Check your local video dealers or type the title into an Internet search engine; the three sets, particularly the most recently released one, shouldn’t be difficult to locate.

– After Sasha Alexander went off “NCIS,” I never heard what happened to her. If you could answer this for me, I would appreciate it. — Cookie Bush, Pasadena, Md.

She has continued to act, though not as regularly as a weekly series role affords. She was in “Mission: Impossible III” with Tom Cruise, and she had guest parts in the now-defunct series “The Nine” and “E-Ring.” This year, she has the films “Play Dead” and “The Last Lullaby” scheduled for release. Alexander also has been playing Mom lately, having given birth to a daughter in the spring of 2006.
