‘The Awful Truth’
5:30 p.m., TCM
There’s nothing awful about this 1937 screwball comedy, one of the finest specimens of the genre. Cary Grant and Irene Dunne star as a husband and wife who are getting divorced but are obviously meant to be together. It takes a few forays into new relationships, accompanied by sabotage attempts from the soon-to-be-ex, for them to realize that.
‘The Return of Jezebel James’
7:30 p.m., WFLD-Ch. 32
Sarah (Parker Posey) wants to sign a 15-year-old author and goes all out to woo him. She’s surprised to discover that he finds bed and bath items more appealing than prime seats at a Knicks game. A visit to the gynecologist with Coco (Lauren Ambrose) yields some surprises.
‘Bridget Jones’s Diary’
8 p.m., Bravo
Renee Zellweger scored a hit in this 2001 film version of Helen Fielding’s best seller about a woman and her two loves. One (Hugh Grant) is a seemingly ideal fellow who’s more than a bit of a rogue, while the other (Colin Firth) appears less likely to have the inside track on Bridget’s affections.
‘Clinically Wild: Alaska’
8:30 p.m., Animal Planet
A dog is rushed in after being kicked by a moose; Dr. Doty sees a duck stricken with frostbite, and an emergency Caesarian section is performed on a dog in distress.
