Four cavers who didn’t return as planned from an overnight spelunking trip in Great Smoky Mountains National Park were found cold and wet Friday but otherwise safe.
The four were found in Rainbow Cave.
They had left Maryville, Tenn., about 10 p.m. Thursday and had expected to return five hours later. It is not clear why they didn’t.
Rescuers pulled them from the cave late Friday.
