Caryl L. Mesch ,nee Weinstein, age 65, of Newton Centre, MA on Friday, March 21, 2008.

For 42 years, the beloved wife of Barry Mesch; devoted mother of Avi and Heather Mesch of FL, Rachel Mesch and Eric Fisher of NY and Elana and Louis Klein of NY; loving grandmother of Mikaela and Alexa Mesch, Abigail, Eliza and Sam Fisher and a grandson born on March 18 to Elana and Louis Klein; dear sister of Laurel Eisner of NY and the late Deborah Jean Krout.

Services atThe Levine Chapels,470 Harvard Street, Brookline, MA on Sunday, March 23 at 11 a.m. Shiva at her late residence with morning and evening minyan.

Born in Chicago, educated at Barnard, the Jewish Theological Seminary and the University of Florida, Caryl spent twenty years in public school education in Gainesville, FL where she taught elementary school and developed enrichment programs for gifted children.

Upon moving to Newton, MA, she taught Jewish studies at Solomon Schechter Day School.

Passionate about the Hebrew language, she later became an adult educator, devoted to demonstrating connections between Hebrew language and classical texts.

A dedicated humanitarian she was devoted to the ideals of tikkun olam.

All of her family, friends and students mourn this devastating loss.
