“Monsters, Inc.”: This computer-animated 2001 comedy from Pixar is stunning for its technical sophistication, but it’s also a surprisingly touching fantasy yarn that stands the “monster in the closet” genre on its head. In Monsteropolis, scary monster James P. “Sulley” Sullivan (voice of John Goodman) and his colleague Mike Wazowski (voice of Billy Crystal) uncover dirty doings after a toddler named “Boo” wanders into the monster world. “Arthur”: Muffy is certain her trip to the opera is going to be an utter bore in “Lights, Camera … Opera!” Not to mention the lyrics are in a foreign language! But singer Rodney Gilfry (“The Merry Widow”) is on hand to explain why the opera can be fun. “Now You See It …”: An unreal reality show is the backdrop for this Disney original movie starring Alyson Michalka (“Cow Belles”) and Johnny Pacar (“American Dreams”). Michalka plays Allyson Miller, a teenager who gets a chance to film the televised search for a junior magician. One of the three magical candidates is far better than the others, but he doesn’t know why. That puts him in danger, and it’s up to Allyson to save him. Frank Langella co-stars. Tuesday, 7 p.m., DISN
“Sesame Street”: Rosita has a bad case of homesickness and misses her grandmother, who lives in Mexico. To make her feel better, her friends plan a party, including Mexican food, songs and decorations. The celebration is complete when Rosita’s grandmother flies in to see her. “Over the Hedge”: This 2006 CGI film is stolen by Steve Carell as the voice of Hammy, a hyper squirrel with an addiction to sugar and caffeine. The main plot revolves around a cunning raccoon (voice of Bruce Willis) who uses naive forest residents to steal food from humans to replenish the stash he took from a hungry bear (voice of Nick Nolte).
