Manager Ozzie Guillen says the White Sox’s Opening Day roster is set in his mind.
And Sunday’s developments in a 6-5 loss to Kansas City might have solidified his thoughts.
Ehren Wassermann helped his chances of landing the final spot in the bullpen with 1 2/3 scoreless innings.
But Guillen wouldn’t declare that Brian Anderson had earned a backup outfield spot despite his fourth home run, which raised his batting average to .362.
“We expect that from him for a long time,” Guillen said. “The way he plays, he’s earned the spot. [But] the decision we make in Spring Training is not how good you played in Spring Training. It’s what we’re going to need.”
OF Carlos Quentin made a late bid to make the Opening Day roster with an opposite-field home run and a two-run double.

Red Sox get early start
The Red Sox finally have a very good reason to get out of bed.
The exhibition games are over. The regular season is about to start.
That begins Tuesday night with the first of two games in Tokyo Dome against the Oakland Athletics.
