Sylvia Fowles was second to Candace Parker again.
A survey of WNBA general managers revealed they believe Fowles, the Sky’s top draft pick and the No. 2 pick overall, will finish second to Naperville native Parker, the draft’s No. 1 selection to the L.A. Sparks, in rookie of the year voting at the end of the season.
Fowles, an LSU product, did beat out Parker in one category.
The GMs selected Fowles as the rookie most likely to develop into the best player in the league in five years with 67 percent of the votes. Parker finished second with 25 percent of the votes. The general managers predicted Sparks veteran Lisa Leslie will win the most valuable player award and that the Sparks will win their third title this season.
