Sunday was a busy day for Joakim Noah — for all the wrong reasons.
Hours after being arrested and charged with misdemeanor marijuana and alcohol offenses, the Bulls’ center/forward was issued two traffic citations by University of Florida police.
Noah starred for the Gainesville, Fla., school, winning two national titles before being drafted ninth overall by the Bulls in June 2007.
According to the Gainesville Sun, campus police stopped a speeding Hummer driven by Noah and eventually issued citations for driving with a suspended license without knowledge and for not wearing a seat belt.
The newspaper reported a passenger drove the vehicle after Noah received the citations.
The stop occurred at around 7:20 p.m. Sunday. The same day, at around 1:50 a.m., Gainesville police issued notices for Noah to make a June court appearance after stopping Noah for carrying an alcoholic beverage in a plastic cup on a public sidewalk and later finding a marijuana cigarette in his pants pocket.
The Bulls are aware of the incidents. General Manager John Paxson, in Orlando for the league’s predraft camp, has made no public comment.
