Barring a stay of a California Supreme Court ruling, same-sex couples will be able to wed in the state beginning June 17, according to a state directive issued Wednesday. The Supreme Court has until June 16 to decide whether to grant a stay of its May 15 ruling legalizing same-sex marriage.

In New York: Gov. David Paterson has directed state agencies to begin to revise policies and regulations to recognize same-sex marriages performed in other jurisdictions.
