Vick files for bankruptcy
Imprisoned quarterback Michael Vick filed for bankruptcy protection while serving time for federal dogfighting charges, saying he owes between $10 million and $50 million to creditors. Vick filed Chapter 11 papers in U.S. Bankruptcy Court in Newport News, Va., on Monday. The seven largest creditors listed in the court papers are owed a total of about $12.8 million.

Schumacher out front
Stefan Schumacher (right) of Germany took the yellow jersey at the Tour de France, and now says everything else is a bonus. He knows his early lead won’t last. “Everybody dreams of this jersey,” Schumacher said Tuesday. “It’s incredible.”
2nd man held in Walker case
A second man was arrested on charges of abducting, beating and robbing Oakland Raiders wide receiver Javon Walker in Las Vegas last month. Deshawn Thomas, 40, was arrested Monday in Las Vegas and held without bail at the Clark County jail, police said Tuesday.

Orlando Cabrera doubled to center field and Alexei Ramirez streaked from first base to score the winning run in the 13th inning of an 8-7 victory over the Royals in Kansas City Tuesday night.

– First baseman Ron Jackson, who played for the Sox from 1954-59, passed away, according to teammate Billy Pierce.
– A corner of the Sox’s clubhouse was flooded at about 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. The Sox suffered no significant equipment damage, although there was standing water in the corner where water shot through a drain.
