Tom Brady is gone. Just accept it. You’ll meet someone else. It won’t be the same, but eventually you’ll move on.

Brady’s fantasy owners have to feel jilted after the Patriots quarterback and fantasy juggernaut went down with a devastating knee injury. The loss of Brady doesn’t necessarily spell doom. Here are some options to help soothe the pain, along with some other free agent prospects.

PICKUPS

Matt Schaub, QB, Texans

(202 passing yards, 1 TD, 2 INT; 1 TD run)

If he’s available, and he shouldn’t be, he’s serviceable even in a blowout loss.

Matt Cassel, QB, Patriots

(152 passing yards, 1 TD, 0 INT)

He’s no Brady, but he still has Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Ben Watson …

Trent Edwards, QB, Bills

(215 passing yards, 1 TD, 0 INT)

Stats are never sexy, but he has a lot of unheralded targets who have upside.

David Garrard, QB, Jaguars

(215 passing yards, 1 TD, 2 INT)

Expect his 35 pass attempts (tied for 6th highest) to come down, but at least he’s no caretaker of the run.

Tim Hightower, RB, Cardinals

(13 rushing yards, 1 TD)

As suspected, he already vultured a short-yardage TD from Edge.

Jerious Norwood, RB, Falcons

(93 yards, 6.6 average, 1 TD)

Ironically, he’s playing the Michael Turner role … behind Michael Turner.

Dante Rosario, WR, Panthers

(96 receiving yards, 1 TD)

The buzzer-beating TD catch might be a fluke, but 7 catches is 7 catches.

DeSean Jackson, WR, Eagles

(6 catches, 106 yards)

Unlike teammate Hank Baskett, who got most of his yardage in one chuck, Jackson was D-Mac’s top target.

Anthony Fasano, TE, Dolphins

(84 receiving yards, 1 TD)

8 catches on 9 looks. It’s official: If you’re a tight end, Chad Pennington is your friend.

Matt Jones, WR, Jaguars

(6 catches, 80 yards, 0 TDs)

After years of collecting underachieving wideouts, does Jacksonville finally have a go-to guy?
