An Oak Park man was stabbed when he shoved an armed robber about 1:50 a.m. Saturday near Lake Street and Austin Boulevard, according to Oak Park police.
The victim was approached from behind by a man who pressed something against his neck and told him not to move. The victim turned around and shoved the robber, who then pulled a pocketknife out and stabbed the victim in the abdomen.
The victim was treated at a hospital and released.
Oak Park has had a spree of armed robberies this summer, but this is the first time anyone has been injured, said Oak Park Police Cmdr. Clem Harbour.
