*A story on Page 3 Thursday about Chicago’s party for the election of Abraham Lincoln in 1860 erroneously indicated that Lincoln was the only other president from Illinois. In fact, U.S. Grant was also a state resident when he won election in 1868.

*A photo caption on Page 19 on Monday erroneously described the fraternity affiliation of Southern Illinois University students who were participating in African-American Homecoming activities. They are members of SIU’s Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity.

*In Sunday’s Smart section, the Smart Dinner recipe for potato soup omitted the amount of whole milk needed. The correct measurement is 6 cups.
