Walter J. Oehlert, age 97, of Springfield, IL, passed away Sunday, Dec. 21, 2008 at 2:25 a.m. at St. John’s Hospice.
Born March 20, 1911 in Chicago, IL. Beloved husband for 71 years of Dorothy O. Oehlert of Springfield; father of Allen (Sara) Oehlert of Chatham; grandfather of four; great-grandfather of one; son of the late Ollie and Frances Kumm Miller; preceded in death by George Oehlert.
Walter worked for Western Electric in Chicago for 40 years as a tool and die maker.
