‘Game Show in My Head’

This new variation on the “Candid Camera” formula sends people out into the streets wearing an earpiece from which they get instructions to perform outrageous stunts. Hidden cameras capture them carrying out their assignments. If they do everything host Joe Rogan tells them, they win $50,000. But if they fail at a task, they lose it all.

John Cusack stars as Mike, who, like Houdini, tries to disprove the allegedly supernatural. One of his trips takes him to a reportedly haunted hotel room, which he realizes really is haunted. Paul Birchard and Margot Leicester also star in this 2007 thriller.

This 2006 comedy follows a family on the road to California and the title beauty competition, in which the daughter (the wonderful Abigail Breslin) is eager to participate. Greg Kinnear, Toni Collette, Paul Dano, Steve Carell and Alan Arkin also star.
‘Doomsday’
9 p.m., Cinemax
Decades after Scotland is quarantined because of a plague, an elite team is sent in to seek survivors. It doesn’t take long to find opposing factions that engage in homicide and even cannibalism to stay alive. Rhona Mitra (“Boston Legal”) plays the leader of the reconnaissance team, and Adrian Lester (“Primary Colors”), Malcolm McDowell and Bob Hoskins also are in the cast.
