Thai For Two massage workshop
at exhale spa, 945 N. State St., 312-753-6500; exhalespa.com
Check it out if you … Don’t want your romantic weekend to stop on Valentine’s Day, are looking for a new way to chill out a stressed partner, figure massage skills can’t hurt you on the dating scene.
The details … The two-hour workshop Feb. 15 covers the basics of Thai massage and acupressure techniques used in treatments at exhale. Come with a partner or get paired on the spot and learn to assist another person’s movement into yoga positions. The result? Your partner should be able to move in ways he or she might not have been able to do on his or her own. The technique is called lazy person’s yoga because it provides many of the benefits of the exercise while incorporating massage along the way. Massage therapist and instructor Jenna Cramer will help you adjust positions and go over the locations of acupressure points and how to use them. The class is $25 and reservations are encouraged. Wear loose fitting clothing with long pants and socks.
The payoff: Learning a very hands-on way to relax.
