A 15-year-old software developer named David Nelson has created a free program called Muziic that let’s fans seamlessly strip the audio from YouTube videos and create playlists, all using an iTunes-like interface. A YouTube spokesman told CNET that the program appears to violate their rules. Uh-oh, better visit www.muziic.com while you can!

Who knew dolls would create such a fuss this week? Barbie celebrated her 50th birthday, but some parents aren’t too happy about Dora the Explorer getting older. Mattel and Nickelodeon are giving her a tweenage makeover, and critics don’t like the fact that that the Earth-roaming role model will now focus on fashion.

Keeping up with the Wentzes

Ahslee Simpson Wentz confirmed to MTV News that she’ll have a role on the revamped “Melrose Place” this fall. Don’t forget: she and Pete appear on “CSI: NY” on Wednesday.
