If image is everything, then how are we to take the new Detroit Lions? The NFL team revealed subtle changes to its logo and how the word “Lions” is spelled out during a news conference Monday. The helmet’s famous leaping lion — Bubbles — bares its fangs, while the team name features an italicized slant. The new version of Bubbles is OK, but if Detroit wanted to make a real change, we’d suggest these famous felines.

Thundercats: The new logo already resembles a Thundercat, so why not just get the real thing?

The Tsavo Man-Eaters: The maneless male lions reportedly dragged men from their tents and ate them in Kenya during the construction of a railway bridge in 1898.

The Cowardly Lion: This is perfect. Detroit went 0-16 last season, so they aren’t exactly scary.

Whizkers: Thought he was gone? No, you can’t keep a good cat down. He’s no lion, but he’s scrappy. Very scrappy.
