“Lunch Bag Bandit” nabbed

A 32-year-old construction worker has been charged with robbing a bank on the Southwest Side in December and authorities suspect him of being the “Lunch Bag Bandit,” wanted in at least six other heists. Robert Flores, of the 2400 block of North Millard Avenue, was arrested Tuesday working at a South Side construction site, according to an FBI news release.

Pedestrian hit by Metra train

A pedestrian was struck by a Metra Union Pacific North Line train Thursday on the North Side, halting all service during the evening rush hour. The train was stopped just south of the Rogers Park station after the 5 p.m. incident, Metra spokesman Tom Miller said.

Man shot to death changing tire

A 37-year-old Chicago man was shot and killed whilechanging a tire Wednesday night at a South Side gas station, officials said. A man approached Lamont Johnson, of the 7800 block of South Calumet Avenue, when he was outside his vehicle and shot him multiple times, officials said.
