An AT&T employee told Will County sheriff’s police he was beaten up at a gas station last week by a man in a car whose driver had earlier tried to run him down.
The victim said he was leaving a service call on the 500 block of Circle Drive in University Park when the driver of a Chevy Cavalier accelerated toward him. The AT&T employee followed the Cavalier in his truck to a service station on the 24500 block of Western Avenue in unincorporated Will County.
As the employee got out of the truck, a man hit him. It was unclear whether the driver or one of three male passengers struck him, police said. No one was arrested.
