Cody Thompson’s single drove in Sean Little with two outs to cap a three-run seventh inning and lift East (9-19, 6-13 DuPage Valley) to victory. Thompson (5-4) threw his fourth complete game of the season, scattering eight hits and striking out six. Little finished 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI, Nick Hogan hit a two-run homer, Joe Dathe had a hit and two RBIs and Jeremy Juhl and Andrew Edwards each added two hits for the winners. For Glenbard North (11-16, 5-14), Dave Wolak had two hits and an RBI, Steve Cocat was 2-for-3 with a double, Nick Mishevich went 2-for-4 with a double and Christ Caliva hit a double.

Kurt Schmide broke a 3-3 tie with an RBI double in the bottom of the sixth inning for Grayslake Central (17-13). Junior Matt Murphy pick up the win, allowing one run and striking out four in two innings of relief. Starter Kevin O’Rourke lasted five innings, allowing two runs with seven strikeouts.

Andy Schultz was 3-for-4 with a two-run homer for Herscher (20-11), which won 20 games for the 15th straight year.

Winning pitcher Steve Denielak gave up four hits and struck out 10. Chris James was 2-for-3 with a two-run homer and Chris Polinski hit a bases-loaded triple for Hersey (16-16).

Zach Liebman (8-1) tossed a one-hit shutout, walking two and striking out steven, as Huntley improved to 24-6-1 overall and 10-3 in the Fox Valley Fox. Andre Sopena had three hits and stole a base, Liebman added two hits and Phil Pupillo had a hit and scored a run for the winners.

Casey Wilgieswicz hit his fifth home run of the season, Zac Pacanowski was 3-for-3 with a double and an RBI and Jeff Paulson had two hits and drove in two runs for Plainfield North (23-5, 18-0). Ben Gorgan (3-1) pitched three innings of four-hit ball and struck out three for the victory, and Ethan Johnson gave up two hits and struck out five in two innings of relief. Romeoville dropped to 15-12-1, 6-12.

Darrell Collins had a home run and four RBIs and Jack McGrail was 3-for-3 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs for Plainfield South.

Jared Jannasch had the game-winning sacrifice fly in the bottom of the seventh for Stagg (13-4-1). Desmond Cato added a double and an RBI. Winning pitcher Matt Conrad (4-4) gave up no hits and struck out two in 1 1/3 inning.

Zack Kisley played a key role in the victory by throwing out a runner at the plate in the fourth inning and driving in the go-ahead run with a sacrifice fly in the seventh. Pitchers Jamie Manhard, Cesar Gallegos and P.J. Marsek combined to limit Grant to seven hits and one run.

Bryce Lahrman gave up no hits and struck out 10. Nick Jay was 3-for-3 with two home runs and six RBIs for Wauconda (13-12-1).

Tony Gaffino was 4-for-4 with a double, a home run and six RBIs and winning pitcher Cory Walden was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBIs for West Aurora (10-19, 5-14).

Wheaton Warrenville South (17-11, 11-8) used three hits and a wild pitch to beat Wheaton North (22-4, 15-4) in DuPage Valley Conference action. Trey Martin hit a home run for Wheaton North.
Wilmington 17, Sandwich 3 (5 innings)
Colin Webb went 3-for-3 with a home run, six RBIs and four runs, Kyle Aderman had a double and a triple and drove in five runs and Josh Bailey was 3-for-3 with a homer, four RBIs and two runs in the Wilmington rout. Bailey picked up the win, allowing two hits and striking out three in three innings. Sandwich is 10-20, 5-11.
Yorkville 18, Rochelle 11
Josh Cooper was 3-for-5 with two home runs and six RBIs, Andrew Borneman was 4-for-4 with three home runs and five RBIs and Max Carey was 4-for-5 with two RBIs for Yorkville. Borneman also was the winning pitcher.
