*An article in the Commentary section Friday misstated the magnitude of U.S. aid to Israel. It is billions of dollars annually, not millions.

*A story in some editions of Friday’s Chicagoland Extra section listed the wrong year for the inception of the National Latin Exam. It launched in 1977.

*On Page 3 in some editions of Friday’s Chicago Homes section, a statement about after-school programs was incorrectly attributed to Joseph Vallez, executive director of the North Berwyn Park District. Vallez actually said: “The community transitioned in the past eight years. … You now have families with single parents, or both parents working one or two jobs. When you look at the positive aspects of arts in a child’s development, those [programs] are very important. As I say, not every kid is a baseball player or a football player.”
