Tigers 3, Pirates 1: Rick Porcello threw seven innings and had a pair of RBI singles, and Placido Polanco had four hits in Detroit’s sixth win in eight games.
Braves 7, Orioles 2: Brian McCann tied a career high with four hits and drove in a pair. Tommy Hanson recorded his first major league victory.
Marlins 7, Blue Jays 3: Cody Ross hit a grand slam in a fice-run eighth inning for the Marlins, who are 15-4 all-time against the Jays. Chris Coghlan added four hits.
Indians 7, Cardinals 3: David Huff picked up his second straight win and Shin Soo Choo had three hits and drove in three. Victor Martinez added a pair of RBIs.
Royals 4, Reds 1: Luke Hochevar tossed a three-hitter in his first career complete game, needing just 80 pitches, and Alberto Callapso hit a two-run homer.
Yankees 9, Mets 8: Two runs scored with two outs in the ninth when Luis Castillo dropped Alex Rodriguez pop up in short right field.
Brewers 7, White Sox 2: Corey Hart doubled, tripled and drove in three runs as the Brewers scored three in the sixth and four in the seventh.
Rays 4, Nationals 3: One pitch after an error prolonged his at-bat, Gabe Kapler hit a pinch-hit home run that snapped an eighth-inning tie.
Rangers 6, Dodgers 0: Vicente Padilla went five innings and Hank Blalock homered in the second straight home shutout. It’s the first back-to-back shutouts at home in 29 years.
Red Sox 5, Phillies 2: Jacoby Ellsbury hit a tiebreaking RBI single in a three-run 13th inning. Ryan Howard’s solo homer in the bottom of the ninth forced extra innings.
Rockies 6, Mariners 4: Ubaldo Jimenez pitched the second complete game of his career and had an RBI single to extend Rockies winning streak to nine.
Giants 3, Athletics 0: Tim Lincecum pitched a seven-hitter for his third career complete game and first this season. Lincecum also drove in his third run of the year.
Angels 11, Padres 6: Torii Hunter homered in a three-run first inning and Kendry Morales added his ninth as Matt Palmer improved to 6-0.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Diamondbacks 8, Astros 1: Dan Haren pitched his fifth career two-hitter and Mark Reynolds drove in five runs with a homer and three doubles.
