Since production began in 2001, BMW has built 1.5 million Mini Cooper and Clubman models, a milestone reached on the 50th anniversary of the original from British Motor Corp. Mini has always made a big impression for such a small car, so we decided to see how big.
3,447: Distance, in miles, that the 1.5 million Minis of its second incarnation would stretch if lined up end to end–roughly the same distance as Chicago to Dublin.
1,570: Distance, in miles, that 1.5 million Minis would cover if parked side to side–roughly the distance from Chicago to Death Valley.
1,319: Altitude, in miles, that 1.5 million Minis would reach if stacked one on top of another–enough to travel to the International Space Station and back nearly three times.
202: Number of Eiffel Towers that would equal 2.03 million tons–the combined weight of 1.5 million Minis.
25: Number of times that 1.5 million Minis would have to double park in the 30,000 metered parking spaces in Chicago.
