Elmhurst

*The Center for Speech and Language Disorders will host the “Brianna Walk to Talk” at 8 a.m. Sept. 13 in Berens Park, 493 N. Oaklawn Ave. Activities also include music, moonwalk and face painting. Proceeds will benefit programs at the center. Fee is $20 in advance, $25 on event day. Call 630-530-8551.

Geneva

*Volunteers are needed for the Orthokids program at Delnor Health and Wellness Center, 296 Randall Rd. The aquatic therapeutic exercise class is for children with neurological and orthopedic conditions who could benefit from the properties of warm water to maximize movement and facilitate independence. Volunteers are paired with each Orthokid to play games and to work on different therapeutic activities based on the child’s individual needs. Volunteer orientation is 4 to 5 p.m Thursday in the cafe at the Center. Classes are from Monday through Sept. 24. Call Jennifer Simmons at 630-208-5510.

Glen Ellyn

*Supplies 4 Success is accepting donations to provide school supplies for the 2009-10 school year to children in need who attend Glen Ellyn School District 41 and Community Consolidated School District 89. Funds will be used to buy packaged school supply kits and backpacks at a low cost. The supply kits cost $20. The group is put together by District 41 PTA, District 89 PTO and the Glen Ellyn Chamber of Commerce.
