Cynthia “Cindy” S. Kowalski,nee Sullivan, 50, late of Lockport, peacefully Thursday, Aug. 6, 2009 at home.
Born in Chicago, IL, living in Lockport for 16 years.
Employed by Axiom Corporation for over 11 years.
Through her leadership of “Axiom Cares,” Cindy led the company’s volunteer efforts and charitable activities, most notably Chicago CARES and the United Way. She was also a dedicated LTHS Cross Country, Hockey and Band Mom during her children’s high school years.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 27 years, Steve; her children Stephen, Joseph (Megan) and Kristin; her grandchildrenAlana and Collin; her father Richard (Mary Ann) Sullivan; her mother Dorothy (Russell) Luebbers; brothers Rick and Tim (Jean)Sullivan; step-sister Jacquie (Kurt) Field; step-brothers Bill Sullivan and Hal (Amy) Reinke; and her faithful Beagle, Trips.
Several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to the Melanoma Research Foundation, www.melanoma.org, St. Joseph Church of Lockport or theRonald McDonald House would be appreciated.
Visitation will be held Monday, 4 to 8 p.m., in the activity center at St. Joseph Catholic School, 539 Madison St., Lockport.
Cindy will lie in state Tuesday in the Church, 9:15 a.m., until time of Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Interment Lockport City Cemetery.
