Rangers 7, Yankees 2: Ian Kinsler homered twice, the bullpen pitched shutout ball and the Rangers became the first visitor to win a series at Yankee Stadium since mid-June.
Indians 5, Orioles 4: Andy Marte hit a two-out, two-run home run in the ninth off Jim Johnson. Grady Sizemore also homered. Rafael Perez got the win, Kerry Wood picked up his 17th save.
White Sox 9, Red Sox 5: Jayson Nix drove in three runs and the White Sox scored four in the second and third innings off Junichi Tazawa. J.D. Drew hit a pair of solo homers.
Royals at Mariners: Rookie Doug Fister has had three good starts for the Mariners and takes a 1-0 record and 2.21 ERA into his outing against the Royals and Kyle Davies.
Athletics at Angels: Ervin Santana has won four straight starts and is 10-1 with a 1.35 ERA in 15 career appearances against the A’s, including a win this season. At home, Santana is 1-4, 9.00.
NATIONAL LEAGUE
Mets 10, Marlins 3: Fernando Tatis homered and went 6-for-13 in the series. Angel Pagan homered and Daniel Murphy doubled and drove in three. Tim Redding earned the win with 6 2/3innings.
Reds 8, Brewers 5: Justin Lehr struck out a career-high seven in 7 2/3 innings, Joey Votto homered and drove in two and the Reds won their season-high fourth straight.
Astros 4, Cardinals 3: Jeff Keppinger hit a tiebreaking homer with two outs in the ninth inning. Jose Valverde pitched two innings and the Astros won their fifth in their last 19 road games.
Nationals 5, Cubs 4: Ryan Zimmerman hit a two-run homer and Adam Dunn added a solo shot as the Nationals won a series at Wrigley for the first time since 2005 and are 14-11 in August.
Dodgers 3, Rockies 2: Rafael Furcal hit the tiebreaking RBI single in the sixth and Matt Kemp hit his career-high 19th homer. Vicente Padilla won his Dodgers debut.
Pirates 3, Phillies 2: Garrett Jones hit a two-run home run off J.A. Happ in the bottom of the eighth to give the Pirates the lead. Andrew McCutchen also homered off Happ.
Braves 9, Padres 1: Javier Vazquez pitched seven shutout innings to snap his two-game skid and Adam LaRoche homered to move the Braves within 4 1/2 in the NL wild card race.
Diamondbacks at Giants: Despite a 3-1 record, Giants starter Joe Martinez hasn’t lasted more than five innings in any of his four starts and has yet to have a quality start
