Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Michelle More wasn’t worried about backlash from the beach volleyball community when she posed for Playboy with her teammate, Suzanne Stonebarger.

“We made sure the spread was going to be classy,” More told RedEye this week. “It’s going to be a little sexy of course, but the main thing was to be athletic and beautiful.”

With the Association of Volleyball Professionals Tour in town for this weekend’s tournament at Oak Street Beach, we caught up with the v-ball veterans to talk about looking good naked and their affinity for Chicago tournaments.

We look at Playboy only for the articles. How’d the pictures in the September issue come out?

More: We’re really happy about the photos. They’re really tasteful.

What kind of reaction are you getting?

MM: This is only the second event we’ve been at since the magazine has been out, but the fans are really stoked on it and it’s bringing attention to our sport.

Did you do anything special to get your bodies ready for the shoot?

MM: We work out so many days a week as it is, I don’t think we could have added more workouts to our normal schedule. Besides having good makeup and hair and a good tan, we didn’t do too much.

You have said it was easier to pose nude together than if you had been alone. Why is that?

MM: We’ve been friends almost 10 years now as roommates and teammates. We’ve seen each other nude a lot. It just made it more comfortable.

With your history, could you ever play with other teammates?

Stonebarger: It’s easy to play with other partners, but I enjoy playing with Michelle the best. It’s really important to have chemistry with your partner. … I want to play with somebody I respect on and off the court.

What is your favorite beach to play on?

MM: We love the Hermosa Beach and the Manhattan Beach events because those are our hometowns. As far as traveling, Chicago is our favorite city. The fans are knowledgeable, and we love that it has the nightlife, restaurants and shopping.

Suzanne, you also have a skincare line called Signature 23. What’s your best piece of beauty advice?

SS: Wear SPF if you’re in the sun for a long period of time and use a night cream.
