Theater on the Lake, the semi-outdoor venue at Fullerton Avenue and Lake Michigan, has announced its 2010 summer season. The long-lived venue in the park is owned by the Chicago Park District and offers reprise runs of some of the most lauded shows from the past year in Chicago theater. Its season is curated by artistic director Hallie Gordon.
This year’s shows include:
“The Second City’s 50th Anniversary Revue” (June 16-20), a touring company show.
“The Glorious Ones” (June 23-27), as produced by the musical-loving Bohemian Theatre Ensemble.
“Abigail’s Party” (June 30-July 4), the hit A Red Orchid Theatre production of the Mike Leigh comedy.
“Baby Wants Candy, The Completely Improvised Full-Band Musical” (July 7-11).
“Red Noses” (July 14-18), the Strawdog Theatre Company production of the Peter Barnes drama.
“Mary’s Wedding” (July 21-25), the moving Rivendell Theatre Ensemble production of a World War I love story.
“The Ruby Sunrise” (July 28-Aug. 1), the Gift Theatre Company’s production of the Rinne Groff play.
“Under Milk Wood” (Aug. 4-8), the Dylan Thomas classic, as produced by Caffeine Theatre.
