HICKORY HILLS
Firefighters from neighboring Roberts Park were called to extinguish a recent car fire after the owner connected the wrong cable to a battery post in an attempt to start the car in a parking lot in the 9000 block of Roberts Road in Hickory Hills, police said.
The car owner told police he connected the cable, shut the hood and started the car. He heard a loud popping sound coming from the engine before going back inside an apartment building. When he looked out several minutes later, he saw his car engulfed in flames, police said.
