Geneva police are investigating the shooting death of a man found on a bench in a downtown parking lot this morning.
Police received a call about 11 a.m. and found a man dead from a gunshot wound to the chest in a parking lot between 3rd and 4th streets near State Street, according to Geneva Police Cmdr. Julie Nash.
A handgun was found underneath the bench, Nash said. No one reported witnessing the shooting or hearing a gunshot.
The man was tentatively identified as a 59-year-old Geneva resident.
