Do you believe that the calls for more civility in political discourse will have any lasting impact?
Absolutely not! The election process itself is uncivilized, which necessarily predisposes the sitting politician to bad behaviors. Even Adams and Jefferson indulged in muckraking.

What is your opinion of the recently approved increase in the state income tax?
It is my opinion that if the people of Illinois want to support all the things they say they need, they should be prepared and willing to pay for them.
Some people in this state demand much more than they are willing to pay for.
