Arthur the aardvark is almost certainly one of the world’s oldest 8-year-olds. When author Marc Brown created his popular children’s character 35 years ago, it’s a pretty safe bet that he had no idea the heights that would be achieved by Arthur Timothy Read. Brown is in town to make the scene with his latest adventure, “Arthur Turns Green.” But here’s the trick: With kids stuff as with Hollywood films, don’t go asking too many questions. Arthur is 8, not 35. Yes, aardvarks are supposed to have really long noses for eating ants and stuff, but Arthur has gotten a nose job over the years. And imagine the ridicule Arthur would face, at any rate, if he went snuffling around, eating ants. 7 p.m. Monday at Anderson’s Bookshop, 123 W. Jefferson Ave., Naperville; free; 630-355-2665, andersons2.indiebound.com
