It’s not as if you’re going to see Steven Spielberg in the audience, but his imprimatur is on Lookingglass Theatre’s world premiere of “The Last Act of Lilka Kadison” nonetheless. The play is about a Jewish woman who as a 17-year-old had fled Poland on the eve of World War II, and takes place in her home in Los Angeles 70 years later. It was written by Nicola Behrman, David Kersnar, Heidi Stillman and Andrew White, as well as Abbie Phillips, the co-writer and producer of the public radio series “One People, Many Stories.” And it’s the first theater production to get a grant from the Righteous Persons Foundation, a Jewish organization that Spielberg established in 1994 after doing “Schindler’s List.” Through July 24 at Lookingglass Theatre, 821 N. Michigan Ave.; $20-$62 at 312-337-0665 or lookingglasstheatre.org.
