The Deerfield man accused of beating his girlfriend’s mother to death with a baseball bat has been transferred to a segregated unit of the Lake County Jail after authorities said he threatened to kill corrections officers.
Daniel Baker, 23, appeared at a court hearing today wearing a red shirt, indicating the disciplinary action.
The threats against the officers, which were both verbal and written on inmate request forms, were made on June 26, Lake County Sheriff’s Lt. Christopher Thompson said.
