The son of slain Chicago police Officer Michael Bailey appeared before a Cook County judge Saturday on charges of having a stolen firearm and unlawful use of a weapon.
Michael Bailey Jr., 28, was arrested Friday after police responded to a report of shots fired near the 7500 block of South Prairie Avenue.
Court documents allege Bailey threw a pistol out the rear passenger window of a parked car. Police recovered a Ruger .380-caliber semi-automatic handgun, which had been reported stolen.
Bailey’s father was gunned down outside his home in July 2010.
