Investigators have found “sufficient evidence” to support allegations that a former Metra employee tried to shake down movie producers for $2,000, and have referred the case to county and federal prosecutors, officials said Friday.
The allegations were reported to Metra in April 2010 when a production supervisor on the movie “Source Code,” filmed partly in Chicago, told agency officials that a Metra employee demanded a payoff to ensure the agency would work with the supervisor again.
The employee was relieved of his duties and retired in June, and no money changed hands, officials said. The finding was reported Friday by Metra’s interim inspector general, the firm Hillard Heintze.
