Chandler Harnish (27 of 33 for 315 yards) continued his efficient production. The NIU senior QB passed for two TDs and ran for three. He passed for five and ran for one in the opener vs. Army.
Getting defensive:
Ron Newcomb recovered a Jordan Webb fumble to thwart a KU drive in the first half. Jimmie Ward, Sean Progar and Demetriu Stone each had 10 tackles.

In the first half, first-year NIU coach Dave Doeren decided to go for it on fourth down, and the Huskies converted.
