A small fire broke out this afternoon at Union Station inside the ceiling above the train tracks, officials said.
About 4:15 p.m., firefighters were called out to Union Station at 220 S. Canal St. for a report of smoke in the ceiling above track three, according to a fire media spokesman.
Apparently a wood beam in the ceiling caught fire and was smoking, he said.
The fire was quickly extinguished and there were no evacuations or injuries.
The cause of the fire was under investigation.
